The Costa del Sol is one of the most popular golf destinations in Europe. You can enjoy sun and golf 12 months a year. Andalusia is the Spanish region with the most golf courses (nearly 120). The coastline of the Costa del Sol, which stretches from Nerja right down to Sotogrande, is home to 74 golf courses. Valderrama is one of the golf courses on the Costa del Sol, and it has been named the best golf course in Europe on numerous occasions. The Costa del Golf has hosted major international tournaments such as the Ryder Cup, the Volvo Masters, the AmEx World Championships, the Volvo World Match Play Championships, the World Cup of Golf, the Spanish Open and the Andalusia Masters. Some of the most prestigious architects have applied their knowledge and skills to the Costa del Sol’s golf courses. The American Robert Trent Jones designed courses such as Valderrama, Real Club de Sotogrande, Las Brisas and Los Naranjos.
